Uploading records

Which reference files work, size limits, duplicates, and records that can't be screened.

Supported formats

You can upload CSV, RIS, BibTeX, NBIB, CSL-JSON, EndNote XML and Zotero RDF files. RIS or NBIB files give the best results. Supported sources include Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote, PubMed and Web of Science.

You can add any number of files, up to 30 MB each. There is no limit on the number of records.

Duplicates

Select Remove duplicates to find records for the same paper and keep one copy. Duplicate removal supports up to 10,000 records. For larger uploads, split the records into smaller files or proceed without removing duplicates.

The review records how many duplicates were removed so you can include that count in your PRISMA flow diagram.

Records that can't be screened

Each record must have a title and an abstract. Records with missing information or unreadable content are skipped. You can download a CSV of the skipped records to help you correct the source file.

Skipped records are not screened or charged. Their count is kept under Record Accounting on the Papers tab.
